When Geo was a young dog, we thought he was beautiful. He had few faults except that he was not big and neither were his litter mates (except one). So we just thought he would be small and produce small puppies. We decided to breed him to a girl who is not big (but who has a big father). He produced several nice puppies but one dog was also small like daddy. So we decided to let him go to a pet home.
Little did we know that this pet home would not like Geo.
They decided he was not the dog that they wanted, and they
sent him back and took one of his daughters.
When he got back, we decided that we would try one more breeding with him. We bred him to his half sister, Liz, who was 24.5". Boy! Were we surprised! Geo's three sons from that litter were all 27" tall! And one of the daughters already was 25" tall at 15 months. You can see the links below to Robbie and Ivy (his two pups from that litter) that we kept.
Because we loved the look of the puppies in that litter (four of them went to potential show homes), we decided to breed him to one more girl to see if he could produce nice puppies again. So we bred him to Isis. We were even more surprised to see that he produced extremely nice puppies from that litter too. His daughter, Dot, at 7 months was already 23" tall. And in that litter, all three of the puppies were put in show homes. Two of them are already showing.
So we decided to keep Geo for ourselves. And he is now on his way to producing a fourth litter of puppies. And, in the meantime, his daughter from his first litter had her CD obedience title before she was two years old. Way to go, Geo!
