Both organizations said that his hips were sound. Both organizations found that he had a Grade 1 elbow. What we believe that this means is that he has an elbow problem in one elbow that doesn't show up in life (he never limps or acts like he has any discomfort), but he didn't look sound on X-ray. Geo is the most athletic dog we have, and he has never taken a lame step so we are unsure if this is an injury or genetic in nature.
In fact, Geo has produced several puppies who have passed elbows so we believe it could be only an injury. Geo spent his baby hood, while the family was at work and at school, laying on top of a dog house waiting for our return. When we arrived, he would jump off. In fact, we even changed the dog house so he couldn't lay on top of the flat roof. We put an igloo dog house in, and it has a rounded roof. Imagine our surprise when we came home the next day to find Geo sprawled over the igloo, his front feet and back feet making the corners so he could stay on top of it! And yes, to answer your question, he is definitely a character.
But Geo happens to be a very loving dog too. He not only
adores children but he also is a wonderful dog in the house. He
lays in the same room with mom, and he never lifts his leg in the house,
even when the girls are in heat. We couldn't ask for a better temperament
to live with, and Geo is also a very intelligent Berner. Back to Geo's Main Page.
